Markus Wirth, Co-founder of WIRSOL SOLAR AG,
Member of the Executive Board

Markus co-founded WIRSOL in 2003 and has more than ten years of experience in the renewable energy industry. Along with co-founder Stefan Riel, Markus is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company. Through his leadership, Markus has established WIRSOL as a pioneer in the utilization of high-performance, reliable and cost-effective PV technologies. Markus currently leads the company’s international efforts to develop utility-scale solar parks. He earned a Diploma of Business Administration from the University of Cooperative Education.

Stefan Riel, Co-founder of WIRSOL SOLAR AG,
Member of the Executive Board
Stefan co-founded WIRSOL in 2003 and has been developing renewable energy projects for over ten years. Along with co-founder Markus Wirth, Stefan is responsible for setting the strategic direction of WIRSOL. Stefan recently moved to Beijing, China to lead WIRSOL’s expansion in Asia, with particular emphasis on China, India, Thailand, Malaysia and the Maldives Islands. Stefan is responsible for worldwide procurement of modules, inverters and under construction (racking and mounting systems). Stefan holds a Diploma of Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences.

Nikolaus Krane, Member of the Executive Board
Niko oversees international financial products, large-scale project financing and international marketing. Prior to joining WIRSOL, Niko co-founded and was a Member of the Executive Board of Conergy, a leading international developer of renewable energy projects. Niko holds a Masters of Engineering degree from RWTH Aachen.

Bernd Kästner, Member of the Executive Board, CFO 
Bernd is WIRSOL's Chief Financial Officer responsible for all treasury and accounting activities as well as WIRSOL's human resource and information technology departments. Prior to joining WIRSOL, Bernd was with international auditing companies like KPMG and headed a branch office of Rödl & Partner. Bernd holds a Management Diploma from the University of Applied Sciences.

Mark Hogan, President international Business Development
Mark joins WIRSOL Solar with significant experience and a global network within the solar industry. Most recently Mark was Executive Vice President at Alencon Systems inc. a company based out of Philadelphia with power electronics dedicated for utility scale solar and large wind turbines. Prior to this role, Mark was Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Power-One, under his leadership Power-One grew sales from negligible market-share in 2006 to 15% market-share and an annualized $1 Billion business. Mark built Power-One’s business across all continents and with many partners, one of the most significant and successful being WIRSOL Solar. Mark studied Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Brighton, UK and graduated in 1986.

Jeff Barnett, President WIRSOL SOLAR Americas
Jeff is responsible for overseeing WIRSOL's growth in the Americas. With more than ten years of global experience in the renewable energy industry, he has a deep background in many key areas of solar including: project development, project financing, manufacturing and technology investing. Prior to joining WIRSOL, Jeff was with Exelon Corporation, one of the nation's largest electric utilities, where he oversaw investments in solar and other renewable energy technologies. Before joining Exelon, he founded and was CEO of Blue Square Energy, a manufacturer of silicon solar cells. Jeff also held various positions at AstroPower, including overseeing a national team responsible for the installation of commercial and residential rooftop solar systems. Jeff earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Naynika Chaubey, Vice President of Finance, WIRSOL SOLAR Americas
Naynika leads the finance department at WIRSOL Solar Americas and is responsible for managing corporate and project finance for the America's business. Prior to joining WIRSOL, Naynika was the VP of Finance at SoCore Energy, a solar developer based in Chicago, IL. At SoCore, she managed project capital sourcing, deal structuring, pricing and financial sales to Fortune 500 clients. Prior to joining the solar industry, Naynika ran quantitative bond research for a team at Bear Stearns. Naynika has a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Princeton University.
